Origin of the masar chawal dish is found in the sub-continent. As far as the cooking is concerned, masar chawal is cooked almost the same way in India, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and even in African countries like Ghana. This dish is very nutritious and tasty. Another great thing about Masar chawal is it is light and easily digestible. Usually, masar chawal and served with salad and pickles.

  1. Masar: 2 cups
  2. Garlic: 
  3. Salt: 1 tablespoon

Steps to follow:

  • Take water in a pressure cooker.
  • Add master in it.
  • Add garlic paste to it.
  • Add all spices to it.
  • Add oil to it and cook it in the pressure cooker for 10 minutes.
  • Take oil in a pan heat it up and add red chilli, green chilli chopped & cumin seeds.
  • Then add this all to the masar which is cooked in the pressure cooker.

For rice:

  • Boil some water for rice.
  • Add rice and salt to it.
  • Strain them once the rice is cooked.
  • Add ghee to it and simmer for 10 minutes.
Serving:

Serve it with masar.
